As sort of resumee of the work done in the last five years at the Chair of Architecture and CAAD (Professor Maia Engeli and Professor Dr. Gerhard Schmitt earlier) the teaching and research assistants of the chair decided, under Prof. Maia Engeli as editor, to publish a book in cooperation with the Birkhäuser Verlag.

This book is a representative overview of the internationally renowned reaching, research as well as combined projects done at the Chair of Architecture and CAAD.
The five main topics of the book are Design in Space and Time', 'Learning and Creative Collaboration', 'Virtual Environments: Paths, People, Data', 'IT and Praxis' and 'Blurring Boundaries'.

The book was published in 2001 at the Birkhäuser Verlag, is titles 'Bits and Spaces' (ISBN 3-7643-6416-5) and contains a CD-ROM with video data of the projects.
